There are many ways to mark your quilt when you are ready to quilt it. If I am coming up with my own free hand design, I often use Pilot FriXion erasable pens. The ink disappears once you press it with your iron. Just be careful to test it on a small swatch as it may leave a white line afterwards when used on dark-colored fabrics. I also like using these pens when I mark quilts with stencils. I have not yet used chalk with the Quilt Pounce Pad, but some of my friends have had a lot of good luck … [Read more...] about Marking your project for quilting

Long awaited finish
On Friday I mailed the Christmas quilt I made for my son Michael and his wife Daniela. Christmas projects book
I made this Christmas wall hanging a few years ago, borrowing blocks from different books to assemble a quilt which brought together the symbols of the season that most speak to me. Christmas Hat
This is how I am welcoming the Christmas season!!! I could not wait to see baby Nicholas with the Christmas hat... It came together really fast and fit him perfectly. The specs: the red yarn is Encore by Plymouth Yarn Co., the white is Eskimo, size 7 circular needles (7"). The pattern (from Leisure Arts) has you knitting the pom-pom. After trying it a couple of times I gave up and the crochet hook came to the rescue. I did not put anything inside the pom-pom as crocheting it tightly helps it … [Read more...] about Christmas Hat

Thinking of decorating for Christmas, the image of tangled up lights came to mind and I could not resist transferring it to the fabric... My son will definitely be able to relate to it. Thanksgiving Day came much too quickly this year. I have an infinite number of blessings to be thankful for and, although I … [Read more...] about Quilting away…
