Thank you for choosing Pieced Brain patterns. Our patterns provide clear instructions on how to make each project. However, sometimes we hiccup and mistakes creep up. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. We immediately correct mistakes, so your pattern may be fine. Otherwise, please refer to the notes below. Thank you again.
Beach Holiday
The cutting instructions for the white and red fabrics for the flying geese are incorrect. Use this:
9020-24 Toscana – Cardinal (B) – 5/8 yard – *(6) 2-7/8” x WOF strips. Sub-cut (80) 2-7/8” squares.
23430-11 Salt Texture – Cream (J) – (no change) – *(3) 5-1/4” x WOF strips. Sub-cut (20) 5-1/4” squares.
Page 3, figure 6 should read: Make 80.
In the Sunroom
The petal template on the last page says to trace ‘4’ for Light Pink. It should be ’40’ as the entire patterns instructs.
Twinkling Stars
Under Cutting Instructions, C8131 Blue Floral, there is a typo: instead of “16-3/8” and it should be “16-1/8”.
Flights of Whimsy
Under Cutting Instructions:
Green print on black (Fabric K) [S7709-537S Blacklight Silver]: Cut (2) 3-1/2″ x WOF strips. Sub-cut (20) 3-1/2″ squares.
Change the labels on 3 of the paper piecing templates as follows:
State of Mind
Under Cutting Instructions:
R4617-66 Autumn (E) – 2 panels
*(6) 6-1/2” strips for border 4.
– Cut these borders first by cutting one 6-1/2” strip from the bottom of the panel, one 6-1/2” strip from its top, and one 6-1/2” strip from each side of the panel. Repeat with the other panel. Noting fabric orientation, stitch the strips together with a straight seam to make a long strip.
*(6) 2-1/2” strips for border 2.
– Cut and sew these strips as you did the 6-1/2” strips above.
Note: I cut all 8 strips (although I only use 6) so I am left with the center square of the panels for another project – perhaps pillows!

All Lit Up
There are two changes to the yardage to allow for plenty of fabric in case of cutting errors:
– Under the cutting instructions:
From 9385-B Cherries Blue:
*Cut two (5-5/8” x WOF) strips [not one strip].
From 9385-S Cherries-Sunshine:

Love Ties
This update is for cutting the hanging orangutan and the panda which are located at the bottom of the panel next to the brown border. Cut these 2 animal sections as follows:
Measure 8 ½” up from the top of the panel’s brown border and mark with a pencil or fabric marker. Fussy cut both animals at 6” x 8-1/2”. From the fabric MASD6205W (white w/black dots) cut two 2” x 6” strips. Sew a strip to the bottom of each animal. Press seams open. Trim block to 5-7/8” x 9 1/8”. Proceed as in the pattern to complete the quilt. This seam will not show once the project is quilted.
