Guys, I am in love with this simple quilt. I did not want to wait until it was quilted to show it to you! I am calling it Candy Crush because I have major crush on it. I used a Fresh Air Jolly Bar® by American Jane fabrics for Moda Fabrics from Fat Quarter Shop. These 10" x 5" precuts, only available from Fat Quarter Shop, are perfect for a quick quilt or you can cut them and use them in blocks. I wanted to show the fabrics in their full glory, though... I did not decide on fabric … [Read more...] about Free pattern and Giveaway

Paper Pieced Star
I was looking for ideas for a mini quilt I wanted to make for a neighbor who is waging a tough battle against illness. Leafing through Quiltmaker's 1,000 Blocks I found Icicle Star by Sheri Diesburg, Dawn Koltz, and Ann Marceca on page 114. Bingo! I pulled out blue batiks from my stash, printed the template which came in a CD, and went to work. Eight blocks later and my mini quilt, which I am calling "Love and Light", was done. This morning I quilted it using Aurifil monofilament - perfect … [Read more...] about Paper Pieced Star
Nine Patch Quilts
My quilting voyage of the past decade is marked by some distinct phases when I would make many quilts of a particular type. Here are the phases (and I have many books supporting each one): - Beginner, when I carried with me the fabric requirements for the same log cabin quilt, and everywhere I went I bought fabrics for those (12!) quilts I ended up making; - Floral with gold phase; - Fabric folding flowers; - Machine applique' phase; - Quilts using only fabrics from the same collection; - … [Read more...] about Nine Patch Quilts
Christmas Card Holder
One more project ready for Christmas. Reds and greens are my favorite Christmas colors (pardon the colors in this photo - no way to fix it!). The background is from JoAnn's and I've had it for quite a while. I love the ric-rac that my Mom sent me from Brazil and thought I would use it for hanging the card holder. It is stitched to the background and covered with the yo-yos and buttons. Cute fabric for the pockets! It is from the 'do not cut ever' stash, but every once in a while I gather … [Read more...] about Christmas Card Holder
Sunny Table Topper
Photograph by Annie's Publishing. Used by permission. This is my latest pattern: Here Comes the Sun, published in Annie's Quilting "Precut Table Runners & Toppers" book. It is cheerful with bright colors, and the center is made using raw edge applique', so no need to sew circles. Here Comes the Sun measures 31" x 31". The middle of the center block is perfect for a vase or simple table centerpiece to emphasize the table topper design. It was pieced and quilted using Aurifil 50wt white … [Read more...] about Sunny Table Topper
