Jelly roll-friendly quilt pattern

By Denise Russell Leave a Comment

This easy jelly roll-friendly quilt pattern is a beginner's dream. You can also use 2-1/2" strips from your stash. Make it in a weekend! "Play Ball" is quilted, bound, and the pattern is in my Etsy shop! I made it in two days during a quilt retreat in March. I did not have to do a lot of cutting because I used a jelly roll with 42 strips of fabric, plus a few more to complete all the blocks. It measures 69" x 76", with the blocks finishing at 6" and the cornerstones finishing at 2". … [Read more...] about Jelly roll-friendly quilt pattern

Scrappy quilt with stars

By Denise Russell

Create this scrappy quilt with stars using fabrics you've been collecting over the years. It will add vibrant colors to your home decor! Spiral Galaxies appears in the June issue of American Patchwork & Quilting magazine, hitting the stands on April 18! It measures 72-1/2" x 81-1/2" with 10" star blocks and 9" nine-patches with half-square triangles. It features bakits from my extensive collection. No single fabric was purchased for the quilt, including the (pieced) back, which I will … [Read more...] about Scrappy quilt with stars

Scrappy Quilt with Liberty of London

By Denise Russell

Liberty of London

I made this scrappy quilt with Liberty of London fabrics for my bed—a quilted present just for me! I wanted something new to adorn the bedroom set I purchased. What do you think? Once, while scrolling through Instagram, I saw a post about granting a fabric wish to fellow quilters and making a wish, too. So, I said I would love to receive scraps of Liberty of London fabrics of any size. Then, I granted a bunch of wishes, which was so fun! The parcels began to arrive. I made an Oooh and … [Read more...] about Scrappy Quilt with Liberty of London

Modern quilt pattern for home decor

By Denise Russell

This modern quilt pattern for home decor looks complex, but it's easy! Beginner blocks and contrasting colors combine for a stunning effect! This is Candyboard, my latest quilt pattern available at my Etsy Store. It measures 64" x 76" with blocks that finish at 12". I designed it for the Tonga Honeycomb batik collection by Timeless Treasures. You know how much I love batiks, right? If you would like to make it using the same collection, I know that Hancock's of Paducah is selling the kits … [Read more...] about Modern quilt pattern for home decor

Three easy modern quilts

Add color to your home with these three easy modern quilts that will bust your fabric stash. I bet you will make all three! Are you ready to hit the reset button on some traditional quilt blocks? Let me show you what you can do with two of my favorite blocks. As you read on, think about how you can adapt my ideas to your preferred color scheme by using prints (a smaller scale will work best in a couple of them) instead of solids, a low-volume background instead of white, or even a dark … [Read more...] about Three easy modern quilts
