Before I graduated last May, I took many online classes to learn software I needed to complete my projects and it was amazing! Since I could access the courses at any time, I would often wake up around 4 am and watch the classes while the rest of the household was still asleep. As for craft classes, I have not had time to take them in four years. Wait, what? I cannot believe it has been so long. This is about to change as Craftsy has a crazy sale going on! Over 50 online classes to watch … [Read more...] about Online Classes Under $15!

Quilts with Layer Cakes
I am taking a break from sewing tiny triangles on tiny squares by the dozens and remembered I had received for review Peta Peace's book A Piece of Cake - Sweet and Simple Quilts from Layer Cake Squares published by Martingale. Oh, what innovative ways she came up with for us to use 10" squares and make beautiful scrappy quilts! Peta's designs are exquisite yet surprisingly simple to construct. Her selection of bright fabrics against the white background (wait, there is a cool aqua … [Read more...] about Quilts with Layer Cakes
Pergola Quilt Pattern
Before you get ready to watch the Eclipse this morning, check out this beauty: Pergola! It is finished and I think it turned out so beautiful! Pergola measures 83" square with each block finishing at 15". The pattern is downloadable as a PDF file from my Etsy store Quilterly. It has lots of diagrams and photographs to help with the construction of the blocks so you can finish your own version in no time at all. Origami Pouch
Stop the presses! Look at the pouches I made! They came out so nice - a few more gifts ready for my family in Brazil! They are called Origami Pouch (es) but I am calling them my Sock Monkey Pouches because of the buttons I added. I used this fantastic pattern created by Amy Barickman at Indygo Junction. It is called Origami Pouch because with a few folds you can create a very cool little bag! The pattern is very detailed, super well written, and features lots of diagrams so there is no … [Read more...] about Origami Pouch
Classic Crochet Shawls
My collection of yarn and crochet hooks keeps growing. I have crochet hooks that belonged to grandmothers long gone, metal ones I began crocheting with, others I purchased in the US. If the desire to crochet strikes when I am traveling and I have no supplies, I run to the nearest craft store, get what I need, and the fun starts. I also love that I have the electronic version in my laptop of books with projects I want to try. Armed with a pattern, yarn, and hook I nestle on the couch in my hotel … [Read more...] about Classic Crochet Shawls
