Remember my idea (mentioned on Instagram @piecedbrain) of having a Sew Along using the Modern Spools pattern from Peta Peace's book A Piece of Cake - Sweet and Simple Quilts from Layer Cake Squares published by Martingale? Well, I am ready to implement it - this quilt would look awesome in my studio! It would be so cool if you participated, too! Designer Mystery Quilt
Catching up with the Fat Quarter Shop's 2017 Designer Mystery Block of the Month has been fun! The first one I worked on was Pat Sloan's "Cat's Pajamas": I made it's four patches then put them all together. The finished quilt will look lovely because of the choices of fabrics, don't you think? Here is block 4 by Kate Spain called "Soda Pop": It was very fast because first... ... you make the four patches, then... ... the diamond in the square for the center, followed by … [Read more...] about Designer Mystery Quilt

Window to My Garden

This pattern was also perfect for Dear Stella's fabric collection Market by … [Read more...] about Window to My Garden

Piece and Quilt with Precuts
This book is a perfect segue to Pat Sloan's Teach Me to Make My First Quilt book I reviewed in my previous post. Christa Watson's Piece and Quilt with Precuts, published by Martingale, presents eleven quilt patterns made with precuts: they are beautiful, fast to make and teach you to use already cut or leftover fabrics. Christa is well known in the quilting community as a prolific machine quilter and, naturally, Piece and Quilt with Precuts is divided into three sections with quilt … [Read more...] about Piece and Quilt with Precuts
