Happy Tuesday, everyone! Last night, when I finally had a chance to put my feet up I grabbed Martingale's "Stashtastic! 12 Patterns for Fat-Quarter Quilts" by Doug Leko and read it cover to cover. I love his designs! Doug's passion for quilting, his creativity, and love of colors are manifested in each pattern twice as the designs are presented in two colorways. He has been quilting since he was 6-years-old and designing and selling his patterns since he was 14 - his mom is … [Read more...] about Fat-Quarter Quilts

Blue Mirror Image crochet scarf
Brrrrr... it is so cold outside! I had to wake up very early to drive both teens to the dentist and bring them back in time for school. On my way out I remembered to grab my new scarf - hey, this one I made for me! The pattern is called Arches from the same book as the last crochet scarf I made: Mirror Image Scarves by Ruthie Marks. My first mirror image scarf can be seen here. I am really loving this book! This is 62" long and about 3-1/2" wide. Pincushions
Photograph by Annie's. Used with permission. I love pincushions and am so happy with how these Seasonal Square Pincushions turned out! I covered the buttons with the bottom fabrics of each pincushion for contrast. The name and maker of the fabric from the left one escapes me, but the … [Read more...] about Pincushions
Spring Batik Quilt
Photograph by Quilter's World Magazine. Used with permission. Yesterday was a very gray day here in Utah but I was cheered up by the arrival of my quilt "Spring in Cape May" from the publisher. Oh... these blues, teals, and yellows made me so happy! Spring in Cape May measures 78" x 94" and the blocks finish at 16". It is a very easy quilt to make and the large blocks are ideal to showcase your favorite fabrics as I did. Here are some batiks from the Tonga Angelfish line by Timeless … [Read more...] about Spring Batik Quilt
Modern Spools Sew Along – 4 again!
Yes, four more blocks and three blocks to finish the 23 required for the Modern Spools quilt designed by Peta Peace. I am so excited!!! No applique blocks this time by I know exactly which one will be the last. Since I have 3 blocks left I will post them together in two weeks. In the meantime, here are the other two I made: I am loving these fabrics and am glad I have lots of leftovers as I have been using a fat quarter bundle for this project. Now that the blocks are almost all done I am … [Read more...] about Modern Spools Sew Along – 4 again!
