This is "Now You See Me", my quilt just published in the July/August 2018 edition of Quiltmaker Magazine. Our challenge was to design a quilt with hidden blocks. As I was designing this quilt I was wondering what was hidden in it, when I suddenly saw the stars... Now You See Me measures 65" x 77" with 12" blocks. I chose fabrics com the Jinny Beyer Granite and Papyrus collections by RJR Fabrics and love how the colors came together so well. The design is very modern with lots of … [Read more...] about Hidden Blocks quilt
Quilted Wall Hanging
Saturday night I decided I was not leaving my quilt room until I had made a project with paper piecing. A few hours later, Objects of Desire sprung to life! It measures 10-3/4" x 18" and was quilted with two layers of Warm & Natural batting. I used Aurifil monofilament for the quilting because I did not want anything to distract from the dress and shoes. The quilting is simple: stitch in the ditch everywhere, and loops around the bouquet of flowers on the yellow border. Can you believe … [Read more...] about Quilted Wall Hanging
Clementine Quilt Along Month 5
Photograph by Fat Quarter Shop. Used with permission. Welcome to Month 5 of the Clementine Quilt Along hosted by Fat Quarter Shop. The name of this month's block is Pineapples Puzzle, and here are my blocks: I made lots of half square triangles, large and small, then put them together to make the 12-1/2" and the 20-1/2" blocks. For sure that is the reason why my blocks are coming out larger than … [Read more...] about Clementine Quilt Along Month 5
Under the Starlight quilt pattern
Oh... I am loving this quilt design! I call it Under the Starlight. The quilt measures 44" square and the blocks are 5". It features the panel and beautiful fabrics from the RJR Fabrics English Garden collection. The ribbon look of the border enhances the panel's romantic feel, I think. Here are the fabrics I used on this design: The last fabric is from the Jinny Beyer Palette Moss (Midnight), which complemented the other fabrics very well. This line is gorgeous and I … [Read more...] about Under the Starlight quilt pattern
Dusk at Sea quilt pattern
This is "Dusk at Sea", my newest pattern designed with the Loca Linda fabric collection by Blank Quilting. The colors and textures are amazing, and the Tie Die fabrics were perfect as they reminded me of the sky above the ocean when the ship is in between ports... The paisley motif is reminiscent of marine life, and the alternate blocks bring to mind the compass. These are the fabrics I used in Dusk at Sea, and the last three are from the Blank Quilting Starlet basics … [Read more...] about Dusk at Sea quilt pattern
XOXO quilt
This is my second design for the Florella line by Blank Quilting called XOXO. Can you guess why the name? XOXO measures 95" x 99" and the blocks finish at 12". The hidden, subtle message on the blocks make it a fun project for a loved family member, friend, or someone who just needs to know he/she is loved... XOXO has been released under the Pieced Brain label and is available at your nearest quilt store or can be downloaded from my Etsy store Quilterly (for wholesale orders, use the … [Read more...] about XOXO quilt
