I love the recycled wool I used for the basket, don’t you? It was a skirt in its previous life. Great texture… The white trim on the basket and flowers below is from a sweater.
The quilting is very simple and so is the embroidery, making it a fast project. And relaxing. Working with wool is always fun, particularly when you applique’ it against a cotton background as the work is not as stiff, in my humble opinion. I really like the quilted butterfly…
I am thinking I should have hand quilted this wall hanging. I may rip the quilted lines and redo them by hand using a dark thread, adding more quilting so the background will look better. It will not take long – a perfect project for when the family is watching something that I am really not interested in,but want to keep them company.
Gardener’s Delight will be turned into a pattern soon, joining the other projects on my To Do list for school vacation. In the meantime, I am linking to Crazy Mom Quilts and Confessions of a Fabric Addict…
Enjoy your day,
Gardener's Delight is absolutely a delight! I have not worked much with wool BUT your mention of that beautiful wool that you used for the pot made me think. . . I have several wool skirts in my closet. . . they'll never be worn again. . . I think it might be time for that wool to see the light of day again! 🙂 Thank you for the inspiration!
Very nicely done – looks amazing!
lovely quilt, i love the texture of the wool.
