... and it is my first grandchild, a boy! I have been up since 2 am this morning, and look what I came up with: A baby bag - huge, for all the stuff my son Michael and his wife Daniela will put in it. Right now it is filled with Christmas gifts for the little one, which I had a blast wrapping. I used drunkard's path blocks from a quilt I am working on - I did not want more orphan blocks! How will I wait another 4 months until I can hold him? Anyway, here is the back of the bag: Those are … [Read more...] about There is a baby coming…

Newtown, CT
No explanation of motive, gun law debate, security measure will bring back life as it was before for the families of the 20 little children and the adults who perished today in Newtown, CT. Snowman Table Toppers
It took our group of 8 a few days but we got them all done - 27 table toppers for Christmas! This is the second year that we choose a project and work on it together, each one ending up with a few gifts to give to family members or friends for Christmas. Abakhan's ribbon was perfect for this project, as it had a green center, with extra wide gold borders, and it was very pliable, making it easier to shape the leaves … [Read more...] about Christmas Ribbon Wall Hanging Tutorial
Are you still sleeping???
It’s 5 am on 12/12/12. The wind is blowing ferociously. It feels like a long time ago when my 12-year-old woke up, walked upstairs, and fell asleep again, this time on the wrong bed, and on the wrong side of the bed (mine), while I was already there. It was all I could do not to fall off! Well, it has been almost four hours since. Counted sheep, had water, prayed. Nothing. The funny noises Chris was making, combined with his father’s snoring, formed a somber duet louder than the … [Read more...] about Are you still sleeping???
