Wow! My son's wedding kept me away from my blogger duties for quite a few days! As the wedding day neared, preparations were very intense. My mom and sister came from Brazil one week before the event. Without their help I would have gone crazy! :-) Well, my friends might argue I was ALREADY there! The wedding ceremony was glorious. The reception went smoothly with lots of friends and family members celebrating with us, delicious food, and lots of dancing. The party lasted four hours. I am so … [Read more...] about Wedding

Boutonniere
My son's wedding is coming up fast. I am so glad I am not the one who needs to look good on the big day... lack of sleep is leaving dark gray tracks on my face! One of the reasons I did not sleep last night, and am already late getting to bed - boutonnieres. I have a few more to make but am afraid if I continue this project tonight the roses will look as fresh as I! :-) How do you like it? … [Read more...] about Boutonniere
Binding quilts

Medallion – last border
I think I am done with this one. Now, I will quilt it, and bind it with black fabric. Do you like adding pieced borders to your quilts? There is a little bit of math involved, but nothing that would make you regret not having paid attention to math classes in school... I will quilt it as soon as I finish quilting the log cabin one (see previous post). How do you like my design? The scallops were fused over the green border. This technique is illustrated in one of Teri … [Read more...] about Medallion – last border
Machine quilting without Stitch Regulator
Finally decided to quilt a top I made in 2009 during our quilt retreat. For a change, I am quilting it using the darning foot instead of the stitch regulator. I am having a blast! I am marking it as I go along, using a stencil and the FriXion pen. As soon as I am done quilting the block, I iron it so the pen marks will disappear. It is turning out so nice! How about you, girls, quilting anything lately? … [Read more...] about Machine quilting without Stitch Regulator
