Guys, it has been many weeks since I last purchased new fabric. I am not shunning them - just trying to use the fabrics I have as I am running out of room for storage, and moving into a larger house to accommodate my fabric collection is not an option. This is probably why I have been making more scrappy quilts than I have in the past. I was so happy when I received for review the book "Seems Like Scrappy" by Rebecca Silbaugh. The patterns can be made with any 'scrap collection' you may have: … [Read more...] about Use all your scraps!

Scrappy Fat Quarters

My determination to use the fabrics from my stash as much as possible before I buy new fabric is forcing me to pull those favorite pieces out and (OMG!) bring the rotary cutter next to the ruler, all along thinking "I am going to regret this!". This is probably why I have been so attracted to books with ideas for using fat quarters (see my review of … [Read more...] about Scrappy Fat Quarters

It was based on a design by Jillily Studio, then I added the vine, flowers, leaves, hearts, and the scrappy border. Red and blue buttons around the vine make fun berries. It is 44.5" square. The quilting is pretty detailed, which you can see on the next picture. Between the vine and the border I quilted hearts, strung close together. Below … [Read more...] about Scrappy Summer Quilt
