Placemats Tutorial
Here is what I am working on today - placemats using the Broderie Perse technique. I am loving them! Here is a quick tutorial: I've had this beautiful fabric from Benartex for a while (no idea what is called!) but did not want to lose its beauty by cutting through it. So, I ironed fusible web to its back (I always use Heat'nBond Lite) and carefully cut around the designs I wanted using sharp scissors. Paper Pieced Star
I was looking for ideas for a mini quilt I wanted to make for a neighbor who is waging a tough battle against illness. Leafing through Quiltmaker's 1,000 Blocks I found Icicle Star by Sheri Diesburg, Dawn Koltz, and Ann Marceca on page 114. Bingo!
