I found these beauties at Serendipity in Dagsboro, DE: Home of Christmas, by Stof. Rich shades of cream, grey, rusty brown, with golden outlines and dots... I am seriously considering another trip to the store to purchase more fabric! I am often reminded of the question which plagues most quilters, particularly beginners: How much should I buy of each fabric when I don't have a project in mind for them yet? During the early years of my fabric addiction, I used to buy a minimum of 2 yards … [Read more...] about How do I know how much fabric to buy?
Serendipity Quilt Store
Yesterday, the sun was shy at first, letting the clouds fool us into thinking we'd better change our plans for the day. Before I could even think about alternate activities, boys and husband were already at the beach. For art quilts, I start the design process by choosing the fabrics I would like to work with, instead of sketching the layout! I am not quite sure why, but paper and pencil do not work for me when composing art quilts, probably because I do not know how to draw... So, I go straight from brain to fabric. Occasionally, … [Read more...] about The process of quilt design
