Download these Free Quick Thanksgiving quilt patterns to revamp your Holiday decor or give it as a gift to family and friends!
Quilts using panels are super fast to make and these two designs I created for Blank Quilting‘s He Leads Me fabric collection are no exception. They convey the spirit of the Thanksgiving season with a soothing palette with dusty corals, teals, and soft ivory that will likely not clash with the colors you already have in your home.
Some of us feel intimidated by fabric panels. However, they can add a lot of interest to our quilted projects. I know we buy panels and then don’t know what to do with them. If you have other panel blocks laying around in your studio, download these patterns and see if you can trim the blocks to the size required. Then, you can use one pattern for many quilts!
Quilt 1 above measures 60″ x 60″ and the blocks finish at 10″. I chose simple blocks so this is a perfect beginner quilter project, and a fast one for veteran quilters, too. Just what we need for this time of the year, right?
Designed by Christine Adolph for Blank Quilting, the messages on each block help us focus on spiritual matters, something many of us like to do as the holiday season approaches. It is also fun to freshen up the projects we display around the house during Thanksgiving gatherings, don’t you think?
As you can see, the blocks are easy to make and feature two colorways. Download the PDF and get the fabrics as they are shipping to stores in November. Then, you can have this quilt in a day project ready and have plenty of time to plan the Thanksgiving meal.
I said I was going to show you two Free Quick Thanksgiving quilt patterns, right? Here is the second one:
If all you need is a pop of inspiration here and there in your family room, I designed a set of six pillows using the blocks from the panel. The pillows finish at 16″ and pillow forms are readily available in craft stores. The backing of the pillows is envelope-style for ease of cleaning (just remove the pillow form and throw the pillowcase in the washing machine on the Delicate setting, then dry it on Low).
I like to finish pillows as I finish quilts, so you will just add the binding as you would to a regular quilt, then insert the pillow form. If your time for Thanksgiving craft projects is short, make two or four and save the other blocks for next year!
Pillows are small enough to store and a quick way to change out the look of a room. They also make terrific house-warming gifts, I think.
I can’t wait to hang my Turkey Day wall hanging (the photo is wonky, not the quilt!) at the beginning of November. I made and quilted it, thinking of how we feel after a big meal… You can find this pattern in my Etsy store PiecedBrain (previously called Quilterly). I used machine applique’ for both the word and the turkey shapes, so it comes together super fast! It is also a good scrap buster project.
Oh, before I forget! There is a HUGE fabric sale going on at “>Annie’s catalog (affiliate link) this week. I will stop by after writing this because I am running low on fabric (that’s what I tell myself and friends, anyway).
Enjoy your Monday!
