Happy Friday! Today I have a fun pattern for you to work on – it is called Smocking which can be downloaded from Annie’s Craft Store. This quilt measures 53″ x 73″ and the blocks finish at 10″. The blocks are easy to make and the project comes together very quickly.
Melissa from Sew Shabby Quilting chose the perfect quilting motif for the fabrics I used: Michael Miller’s Marine Batiks. They look fantastic against the white with all their colors, textures, and marine life:
Aren’t they beautiful? As I did, you can feature your favorite prints in the blocks so if you have been saving some fabrics for the right pattern to showcase them, Smocking may be it!

This quilt design has a lot of possibilities: I am thinking it would also look great with 1930s fabrics or with a darker background. If you decide to make it be sure to send me a photograph.
What a sweet quilt! Lively colors and lively quilting. Great job!
Thank you! This pattern is very versatile.
Great quilt and such fun fabrics too.
Thank you! I have a soft spot for batiks in my heart, but I need to make this pattern with other fabrics, too, to see what it will look like. Have a great weekend!
