Winter knitting

By Denise Russell

Two more pairs of socks done, and these will go to my sister in Brazil. Knitted toe up with circular needles (Addi Turbo Lace size 2, my new favorites). The green pair was knitted with Zino by Plymouth Yarn, which is 75% superwash wool and 25% nylon. The other pair was knitted with leftover yarn from my previous socks (see them here and here).

I will start another pair right away so I always have a project ready to take with me. Well, I do have three embroidery projects in the works… but I find that socks are more portable. Plus, that is what I feel like doing now!

Notice the roses: my husband doesn’t understand why I have kept them after they dried. It was my gift for our 16th wedding anniversary in December and I just can’t part with them. I might turn the roses into a wreath or a table decoration. Until I figure out their fate I will keep them in the dish, looking pretty…

Happy Tuesday!

Love your socks Denise – any your roses too :*)
What pattern do you use for your socks? I'm on my 5th pair and working with different patterns to find one I like the best. I love doing toe-up, two at a time!!!

Great socks Denise. Aren't toe-up the best? I am taking a bit of a sock break. I made seven pair in November and December. I do have two (or three) skeins separated for 3 more pair so it will be a short break. Just time enough to finish two custom animals and a toddler sweater.
Good luck with your next pair. I can't wait to see them.

I didn't think anyone knit socks anymore and I am so glad to see these. They are really neat.
