Are you looking for a quick project for your Christmas handmade gifts list? How about the Poinsettia Topper above which I made with Maywood Studio’s beautiful collection Poinsettia & Pine? It was just published in Annie’s Quilting Terrific Table Toppers – a book with 9 great quilted table toppers to jazz up your decor.
The table toppers in this book are beautiful and can be displayed year-round (mine is the only one for Christmas). They feature applique’, log cabin, Dresden plate, and other creative piecing techniques and designs.
The Poinsettia Topper is fun and easy to make. It measures 22″ square and the circle on the middle is machine appliqued. Notice how the free motion quilting is very simple, with holly leaves ‘tossed’ everywhere and on the red border.
These are the fabrics from the Poinsettia & Pine collection I used on this project. Those dots and scrolls are the perfect accompanying textures for the Christmas print. I made another quilt with this fantastic line which I will show you as soon as it is published.
Terrific Table Toppers can be found online from Annie’s Catalog or at a store near you. You will find in it lots of inspiration and ideas to use the fabrics you have or great excuses to go and get just the right fabric for the project you choose.
Wishing you a restful weekend,
Great idea for an early to make holiday gift. Thanks
And it is small, so it should be quick!
That's so pretty. Great fabric choices.
Thank you. I love the dots…
