Quilt with Geraniums

By Denise Russell

Free pattern alert! I call it Sweethearts, the quilt pattern I designed for the beautiful Maywood Studio’s Chloe fabric collection.  This pattern is being offered as a free download from Maywood Studio’s site. I grew up surrounded by Geraniums as my mom loved them, and was so happy with the opportunity to design a quilt featuring fabrics that show them in all their glory.

The quilt measures 70″ x 80″ and the blocks finish at 12″. At this size, the blocks provide the perfect frame for the flowers and are fast to make. Here are the fabrics I used:

Gorgeous, right? Large and small prints, tone-on-tone, stripes – the Maywood’s Chloe collection has all the features you like in a fabric line to lend interest to the quilt. The pattern’s lattice design is reminiscent of potted Geraniums trailing down garden structures, infusing with rich colors every inch of the garden, windowsill, or porch where they are planted.

The Chloe collection has shipped so head over to your local quilt store to get it, download the pattern, and let the fun begin!

Happy Wednesday,
