Forever More quilt

By Denise Russell

I just got my copy of the May 2018 issue of American Quilter magazine and my quilt, Forever More, is featured on page 76. Yippee! Forever More measures 87″ x 99″ and the blocks finish at 12″.

This quilt was made using batiks from the New Java Blenders collection by Timeless Treasures. Here are the fabrics I used:

These rich colors look great together, with lots of texture and contrast to make the design pop. I wish I had a bolt of each of the New Java Blenders (B7900) as they also complement a lot of other batiks. Check out the backing:

This batik is also by Timeless Treasures: Tonga-B5800-Pizzazz (its name is so fitting!).

Melissa Kelly from Sew Shabby Quilting quilted this project – I love how the curves of the motif soften the straight lines and points of the blocks.

You can find the May 2018 issue of AQ magazine at stores or on the American Quilter’s Society website. You may consider joining AQS as you will have immediate access to all digital issues since January 2013 AND patterns from more than a decade. Cool.

We are in the middle of April and we got about 3 inches of snow so far. The buds and flowers are totally hidden under a white, powdery blanket, no doubt as surprised by the snowfall as we are. I will finish checking out this magazine and then will write more quilt patterns – a colorful plan for today.

I wonder what you will do today…
