Quilting with Fabric Strips

By Denise Russell

Martingale - All About Strips (Print version + eBook bundle)

Have you seen the book All About Strips – Colorful Quilts from Strips of Many Size by Susan Guzman? Oh… you don’t know what you are missing! If, like me, you like to turn fabric strips into beautiful quilts, take a look at these amazing ways to do it:

Susan’s designs are beautiful, clever creations which go beyond the simple strip quilts we are accustomed to seeing. A passionate quilter who finds inspiration everywhere including favorite magazines, museums and library websites, Susan provides great tips about how to choose colors for your quilts, how to convey a specific mood to your quilted creations through the use of color, and how to combine all those colors to make a scrappy quilt very attractive.

And, when you just want a more muted selection, you can always make this gorgeous one:

The patterns are easy to follow and the results can be very dramatic, as Bejeweled, shown above (top right picture on the set of four quilts).
Speaking of Martingale, don’t forget to enter the 10th Anniversary Giveaway this week, for a chance to win an eVersion of one of their craft books!
Anyway, I thought you might enjoy some cool inspiration for your quilting day. Have fun!
