Just finished Saving CeeCee Honeycutt by Beth Hoffman over the weekend. My quilting friend Celeste had recommended it a few months ago but I totally forgot about it, until last week. I must have been on a crying mood as I had to put the book down at the beginning because the tears were not completely transparent…
The story was well written, engaging, funny. I love reading about Southerners in the 60’s. CeeCee is a girl living in a small Ohio town. Her life circumstances lead her to live with her grand aunt in Savannah, Georgia. I had to muffle my laughs in order not to wake up DH from that point on.
This novel provided a much needed ‘vacation’ from my days… and if you liked The Help by Kathryn Stockett, you will enjoy this one, too. Great reason to stay up until the wee hours of the night.
Books: 100; TV: 0; that has been the score for years.
Have you read anything fun lately? I need to pick my next read…
One of my favorites!
