Just this morning I finished this wall hanging featuring Anni Down‘s “My Favorite Things” line for Henry Glass & Co. I cut the pictures and reassembled them, only including in the quilt ‘my’ favorite things in life…
This wall hanging measures 29.5″ x 26″ and it is quilted with an overall motif of… doodles, I guess. For the quilting I used Isacord embroidery thread (polyester), on both top thread and bobbin. It was easy to quilt as it is a small quilt.
I added three hanging loops to the back top to make it easier to hang (I sew them as I sew the binding on the quilt), but still need to add the label.
One of the blocks has sewing things, which I am glad she included, as life would not be complete without sewing! Hot chocolate, singing in the rain, family, shoes, ice cream, chocolate… it is all there!
Below is another close up so you can see all the fun I had with the quilting. It is my second this week where I just doodled as I quilted (the other one was small, too, but I can’t show it to you just yet as it will be ready for the Hexie Blog Hop – see button on the right).
So, this is my finish for today. Although I do have some bigger projects waiting for me, I must focus on smaller ones for at least another couple of weeks or so as my left hand heals – too slow a process for my taste!
I have another wall hanging I made with this line which I hope to quilt next week and post it here when it is done. Same fabrics, without the panels.
In the meantime, have a restful weekend!
