Phew! The week is coming to an end. Not much quilting done – just handwork, which I cannot show yet as it is for a tutorial I am preparing for another blog. I am focusing right now on tonight’s birthday party for my now 13-year-old.
We had our quilt guild meeting yesterday. How fun! Geri showed us the beautiful things we can make with salvages, the ultimate in upcycling in my opinion! Then, we had a quilt show judge come and give us some tips on how to improve our workmanship and quilt design. Whether we are interested in exhibiting our quilts in shows or not, her tips will definitely contribute to better projects (or will turn us into nail biters as we try adding piping to our bidings, making mini quilts, or finding time for more classes!).
The judge, Cody Mazuran, did a mini trunk show and brought books and patterns from her company, Buttercup Quilts. I will review the books on a later post. For now, I am grateful for our guild, its president and board, and for all the guild members for their ideas and curious minds. Above all, I am grateful I survived this week!!!
