I am getting hooked on chicken-themed quilts! Although I have not made any for me, I made two for my sister: the first one ended up at the home of one of her friends who would not let go of it once she saw it. Then, I decided to make another one just like the first, so Miriam, my sister, would finally have her chicken quilt.
Well, I liked it so much I will have to make one for me. I have been saving fabrics… You must have seen a similar quilt before, as the pattern is quite popular:
Its name is Spring Chickens (pattern MQ #195 by Meme’s Quilts). This time, I modified it just a bit, using the same fabric for sashing and border, adding large ric-rac before I sewed the binding on. The flower stems were made with the same ric-rac.
Visiting Sherri Gool’s site is like entering a candy store – you want it all!!! Her patterns are all fun, including her primitive dolls. The desire of having more hours in a day came back to me, as I really wanted to just lock myself in my studio and sew, sew, sew most of her creations…
Sherri Gool, you rock!
