Easy quilt patterns for every season.

By Denise Russell

I have released a few easy quilt patterns for every season in the past month and haven’t had a chance to show them to you. Remember that, even though I may feature a specific fabric collection, you can choose your own fabrics when you make them unless, of course, they require a specific quilt panel.

Angels Sing

Angels Sing measures 37” x 57” and the border blocks finish at 5”. A Confident Beginner can easily make this project, and it requires the panel from the Oh Come Let Us Adore Him collection by Timeless Treasures. The fabrics give it a very modern look, don’t you think?

Angels Sing can be displayed in your home as a Christmas quilt during the Holiday Season (who doesn’t like a quilted Christmas decoration?) but it would be perfect all-year-around because of its colorway. And, let’s face it, the panel’s message is a reminder for daily action for many of us.

Colorful Illusions

If you follow my blog you received Colorful Illusions as a gift yesterday! It measures 64-1/2” x 79-1/2” and the blocks finish at 5” and 6”. It is also perfect for Beginners but I bet you – Veteran Quilter – has a stash of fabrics just waiting to be made into this beauty!

Scrappy or with your favorite fabric collection (I used the Tonga Fruit Punch collection by Timeless Treasures as you know I love me some batik fabrics), I am sure you will be pleased with the results. It is meant to be colorful, and it will look great with modern, traditional, or novelty fabrics. I am thinking a 1930’s version would look fantastic and bright!

Fanfare

Be ready for when Summer arrives and the Fourth of July celebrations require a brand new red white and blue quilt! Fanfare even has the fireworks! It measures 50” x 62” and the blocks finish at 12” and 6”. I used batiks from the Treats Freedom collection by Timeless Treasures. Yet, I think you can use all your scraps and make this quilt a masterpiece of patriotic colors.

If you need more than one pattern for the Fourth, for your home or to give away as quilts of valor, you may like All-Star or Woven Together. I love both of these designs and they can also be found in my Etsy store.

Serenity

Serenity is another panel quilt that can be displayed in your home throughout the year because of its colorway. In fact, if you want to add a farm-style touch to your decor, this would be a perfect accessory. Do you see what I meant when I said I would show you easy quilt patterns for every season?

Serenity measures 35” x 55” with blocks that finish at 5”. The roof of the houses is paper pieced but, as you can see, it is a Beginner project also. The panel is from the Cotton Blossom collection by Timeless Treasures. Isn’t it gorgeous? It would make a terrific housewarming Thanksgiving gift, too.

PiecedBrain

You can find all these downloadable patterns in my Etsy store, PiecedBrain. They are also available for wholesale, so contact me for larger orders.

Phew. I have 14 more patterns to release in the next few weeks so stay tuned because I will publish them here. For a faster reference, keep checking my Patterns page as I keep it up-to-date with Pieced Brain’s new designs.

One more thing: I am in the process of creating a separate page on the blog for the freebies – patterns I design for my clients which they offer at their website as a free download. You know I enjoy this part of my work: creating designs for their gorgeous fabrics and seeing you get the patterns. Winner combination!

Have a productive [sewing] day!
