I was so happy when I opened the box and saw my quilt Ribbon Dance. I had forgotten all about it as it was mailed to the publisher so many months ago. The pattern for Ribbon Dance has just been published in the Spring 2019 issue of Quilter’s World – have you seen it?
The fabrics I chose for this design are by Timeless Treasures from the Angelica line (gorgeous florals) with accents from their Viola and Solid-ish collections. Ah… but wait until you see the Timeless Treasures backing fabric!
L O V E it! The perfect print for the quilt. Wide backs make me so happy because…
… Ribbon Dance finishes at 79″ x 99″ so it was so nice not to have to piece the backing. Yes, it is a monkey photobombing on the right…
The pinwheels you see on the design happened only because of fabric placement: one block with different fabric combinations fill the quilt with double pinwheels. The straightforward and simple construction is explained in detail on the pattern on page 22 of the magazine.
The Spring 2019 issue of Quilter’s World has amazing projects that you can complete in one weekend so you will be ready for Spring (at the rate we are going it will be here before we know it). And while you are at their site, check out this super fun Floral Mug Rug project:
Easy and fast to make, these mug rugs make great last minute gifts, and you get the pattern only from Annie’s, the publisher of Quilter’s World.
Hey, I do not mean to rush you to Spring, but my view from the window is cloudy with snow lingering on the ground, the ideal setting for snuggling under Ribbon Dance.
Happy Tuesday!
