Dusk at Sea quilt pattern

By Denise Russell

This is “Dusk at Sea“, my newest pattern designed with the Loca Linda fabric collection by Blank Quilting. The colors and textures are amazing, and the Tie Die fabrics were perfect as they reminded me of the sky above the ocean when the ship is in between ports… The paisley motif is reminiscent of marine life, and the alternate blocks bring to mind the compass.

These are the fabrics I used in Dusk at Sea, and the last three are from the Blank Quilting Starlet basics collection. The pattern is available from my Etsy store Quilterly, and can be found at a quilt store near you (for Wholesale orders please use the form on the Contact Us page).

Loca Linda, the super happy fabric collection designed by Jackie Decker, can also be seen in all its glory in the second pattern I designed: Quilt #1 (I call it Disco Lights) which is available as a free download from Blank Quilting‘s website. Just download it, wait until it ships to stores (in October), and have it ready to celebrate the New Year with lots of colors (now, THAT is thinking ahead!).

In this quilt I used these other fabrics:

The blocks really make the fabrics pop lending movement and light to the design. Remember, Quilt #1 is a free download so go to Blank Quilting‘s site, click on Projects, Current, and scroll down to find it (patterns are in alphabetical order by the fabric line). Mention this fabric line to your favorite quilt store and I am sure they will stock it because it is fantastic!

So, there you are – one pattern for purchase and one free. Now, if we could only get our hands on those fabrics now!

Have a colorful day,
