Promenade Pattern

By Denise Russell

This is Promenade, my new quilt pattern with one block in two color combinations making it a fast project to assemble. This one-block pattern is ideal for featuring fabrics that you love yet can’t get yourself to cut them into small pieces.

The quilt finishes at 54″ x 70″ and here are the fabrics I chose up close:

 Macaroons!

I chose to showcase Dear Stella Designs fabric collection Parisienne as this design shows the beauty of the prints very well. Paris is on my bucket list yet I experienced it vicariously through this quilt. Whether you prefer novelty, florals, or any other print the blocks in this pattern will frame them perfectly.
For the outside of the blocks, pick contrasting fabrics as I did, and for the borders, you can repeat one of the fabrics in the blocks or showcase two other prints you really liked from the same fabric collection.
“Promenade” is available for $8.95 as a downloadable PDF pattern from my Etsy store Quilterly. You know, when I look at this quilt from afar the blocks seem to be dancing – no doubt a result of the fabric placement.
Christmas is just around the corner and I can envision this pattern made with a different Christmas scene in each block with the same colors on the outside of the block for a harmonious look, or many different fabrics for a scrappy look. Lots of possibilities!
Speaking of possibilities, Connecting Threads has many sales going on right now: fabrics, sewing machines, notions, threads… Check it out (I am part of their affiliate program).
Enjoy your sewing (or baking if you are already preparing the pies for Thanksgiving) day!
