When I travel I like to bring with me two or three projects to work on during downtime. For this trip (I am in Brazil visiting family) I am knitting socks, a scarf, and doing English paper piecing. When I don't feel like knitting, I can hand sew. English paper piecing is ideal for using scraps of fabric, which can be conveniently packed in small bags for traveling. Spring wall hanging
Hey, it is sunny here today! It is quite possible that Spring weather is here to stay... This clear day is putting me in the mood for playing with colors, speaking of which - how do you like my latest wall hanging? The colorful border has all the hues I chose for the hexie flowers, and it brightens the whole thing up. I love attaching the hexies with a zigzag stitch using contrasting color. Prepared dozens of hexies last week (then could not do anything else for three days as my left hand was swollen :-( ). When I started to sew them together, the corners kept coming apart, as I used the glue pen (Sewline - I found it here) as suggested by Sue at Patchwork with Busy Fingers.
