This is Hidden Trees, the baby quilt I made with Christmas-themed flannels, just published in the November/December issue of Quilty magazine. It measures 38″ x 46″ and the blocks finish at 8″. The alternating block is easy to make and adds lots of movement to the design, a perfect match to the fabric featured on the other blocks, filled with vintage toys for little children.
For this quilt, I chose the Christmas Joys flannels collection by Maywood Studio and love how it turned out. Here are the fabrics I used:
These flannels are so soft – I know of a little boy who will not let go of this quilt once he gets it this Christmas!
Bright colors and the opportunity to play ‘I spy’ are two features of this project which I like. It is super easy to make – another reason I thought you would want to see it. It would look super cool with other novelty fabrics, too, so this is a pattern you can use year-round for babies.
