Black and Gold quilt

By Denise Russell

Photo by American Quilter. Used with permission.
Happy Tuesday, everyone! I can finally show you my pattern Timeless Elegance which has just been published in the March issue of the American Quilter magazine. This quilt measures 77″ square with 12″ blocks.

I chose amazing fabrics from the Zephyr collection designed by Alice Kennedy for Timeless Treasures:

These aren’t all the fabrics I used but they give you an idea of why I called the pattern Timeless Elegance as the prints convey just that: a sophistication and elegance which stand the test of time. Yes, the fabrics inspired my quilt design.

Three different blocks set on point formed this beautiful design and Melissa‘s choice of quilting motif contrasted with the sharp points softening the quilt’s look. I love it!

You may consider joining AQS to get this issue digitally as soon as you join, plus 6 more issues (full year) in print. With digital access, you can get to ALL of the magazines for the last several years – awesome perk!

I am so blessed to be able to work with the colors and textures of fabrics… How they soothe my soul, inspire me, and allow me to participate in this great chain of creativity which begins with the fabric designer, the fabric maker, is aided by the distributors, and finally land on our cutting tables for us to work our magic.

Here is hoping I am inspiring you, too!
